Chelsea new signing Christian Pulisic has received enormous praise from his national team Head Coach Gregg Berhalter following his performances in this summer’s Gold Cup.
The 20-year old contributed significantly to USMNT’s route to the final of the competition. He scored three goals and registered three assists in five games, convincing Berhalter of the bright future that lies ahead of him. Pulisic has already made a name for himself while at Borussia Dortmund.
He was a high flying winger who, although not scoring a great number of goals, was a key player for the Bundesliga giants in his time at the Signal Iduna Park.
That prompted Chelsea to move in for him last January when the opportunity came by to sign him up. He will join Willian, Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi as the Blues’ natural wingers and his national team coach now thinks the coaching he will receive under Frank Lampard will make him a better player.
“He [Pulisic] has the ability to influence the game from different positions and can unlock defences whether as a No 10 or going wide. With the coaching he’ll get in England, he has an incredibly bright future.”
