Christian Pulisic has already impressed Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard, despite the fact that the pair are yet to be officially introduced.
Pulisic is all set to join up with his new Chelsea teammates next week ahead of our tour of Japan. He missed our two fixtures in Ireland due to his involvement in the Gold Cup with the USA.
Said involvement meant that Pulisic was in fact entitled to further time off to rest, but the 20-year-old has decided against taking it up, instead wasting no time getting to work and impressing Lampard.
Merely the fact that he has taken that step has put him in his new bosses’ good books. Lampard is quoted by The Sun giving Pulisic due credit for his hard work and professionalism:
“Christian is flying in separately to join us as he has had a short break. But, fair play, he wanted to get there quickly which I appreciate. It is how I would have been.”
:We have injuries and we will need him. I have not met him, I have spoken to him, but it is a good impression.”
Lampard is the kind of man who will always place great value on small things like this. They speak volumes about a player, especially a younger one. We’ve got a gem in Pulisic.
