“If you give him half a chance…” – Chelsea TV pundit explains this striker’s strengths

Chelsea have reached half time in Japan, and it’s 0-0 against Kawasaki Frontale.

It was a bit of a scrappy first half, but overall Chelsea came out on top. They had some bad spells and some good spells, and nobody embodied that more than striker Michy Batshuayi.

Speaking on Chelsea TV, who exclusively showing the game online and on the 5th Stand app, pundit Pat Nevin explained exactly what makes the Belgian forward so dangerous:

“If you give him half a chance he’ll turn and he’ll shoot and he’ll probably get the ball on target,” the Scot said while sitting on the sofa in the studio discussing the game at half time. He also was interested in the way that the striker bounced back from a slow start, and he was sure that Jody Morris would be in the dressing room encouraging the forward to keep up the good work:

“For 10 or 15 minutes there it wasn’t working for him… then it got better,” he mused, in the same segment on Chelsea TV’s live broadcast.

Let’s hope he gets a goal in this second half. He’s a poacher and a confidence player, and if he’s to keep his place ahead of the more experienced Olivier Giroud, he’s going to have to continue finding the onion bag.
