Frank Lampard reveals when new arrival will join up with Chelsea squad

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has revealed when new boy Christian Pulisic will be joining up with his new teammates for training.

Pulisic led the USA to the final of the Gold Cup, where they were defeated by Mexico. It meant that he was unable to feature for Chelsea in Ireland, but will be part of our upcoming tour of Japan.

In fact, we will not have to wait long at all to see Pulisic training alongside his new teammates, as Lampard has now revealed that the American will be reporting to training early next week.

Lampard is quoted by Football London saying:

“Christian joins us on Tuesday when we get there. He is flying in separately as he has had short break but fair play, he wanted to get there quickly which I appreciate. N’Golo [Kante] will be there.”

While Pulisic will be hoping to avoid Eden Hazard comparisons, the fact is that he is the Belgian’s replacement in the squad, and his influence for the USA suggests he could grow into that talismanic role.

We have high hopes for him, which is why we don’t want to have to wait another minute before seeing him playing in a Chelsea shirt.
