Chelsea boss Frank Lampard outlines highly optimistic season ambition

Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard has revealed that he will be aiming to win the Premier League title during his first season in charge, report the Metro.

Chelsea were lightyears away from the level required to win the league last term, despite (somehow) finishing in third place behind title challengers Manchester City and Liverpool.

However, at a club of our stature, the title has to be the aim. You shoot for the moon and land somewhere among the stars, as the saying goes. Lampard appears to agree with that notion.

Lampard is quoted by the Metro outlining his ambitious season ambition:

“So there’s the challenge. Now, can we win the league? It’s going to be a big ask. But we have to set out with that mind-set.”

We highly doubt that Lampard expects us to have our hands on the trophy come the end of the season, but he understands the club and thus recognises the expectations.

Many of his predecessors have attempted to manage expectations, perhaps to ease the pressure on their shoulders. Not Lamps, he’s looking it in the eye.
