Effective attacker with 66 goal contributions wants new Chelsea contract

Spanish journalist Miguel Rico, writing for Mundo Deportivo has today reported that Pedro wants a new contract at Chelsea.

The winger’s current deal ends next summer, much like Willian’s, but according to this little article, he wants to stick around. From the author’s perspective, that would be well deserved. He points to the 41 goals and 25 assists that the former Barcelona man has picked up in 183 games.

That’s fair enough, and his work rate and versatility have seen him become a popular figure for several managers. There’s also the question losing him on a free next summer unless a deal is done before January.

Like Willian, we expect him to sign a two season extension. That will allow us to keep them if we need them beyond next summer, or sell them for money if we prefer, rather than let them walk away.

Of course, with Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi now to compete with, who knows how many games the Canarian will end up getting this year?
