Chelsea legend believes he was merely a ‘baby’ when he signed for the Blues

Eden Hazard has claimed that he was merely a baby when he arrived at Chelsea in 2012 – but is now ready for the expectations which come with being a Real Madrid player, report Goal.

Hazard departed Chelsea last month, with the Premier League losing one of the greatest players that it has ever seen. The Belgian’s world-class performances wrote his name into the division’s history books.

However, Hazard was not always the superstar that he has been in recent seasons, nor has he been the mature man and model professional that you see nowadays. He acknowledges this himself.

Hazard is quoted by Goal revealing his belief that he was still a ‘baby’ when he signed along the dotted line with Chelsea seven years ago, but is now ready to cope with life at the Santiago Bernabeu:

“When you play for Madrid you have to win every year. If in a year you do not win the Champions League, the fans are angry but it’s normal at a club like this. You need to win and that’s why I’m here.

What can I contribute? I went to Chelsea seven years ago as a baby but I am more mature now – I have played more than 500 games, but I am 28 years old and I still feel young.

La Liga is completely different from the Premier League but, with experience, you adapt quickly. I think that experience is the most important thing.”

We will learn this season whether Hazard is able to acclimatise to life as a Real Madrid player. With his quality, and his bulletproof mentality, we have full faith in the former Blue to succeed.
