Emerson Palmieri has been linked by sources in Italy including CalcioMercato with a move to Inter Milan.
The former Roma man is constantly being linked with a return to Italy, especially now that Antonio Conte, the man who brought him to Chelsea, is Inter manager.
Those links can continue, but the Milanese club aren’t going to get much out of it. With a transfer ban in place, there’s no way we’re letting anyone leave without good reason.
As for Emerson, he has only just established himself as first choice ahead of Marcos Alonso. If he can hold that left back position for a year as his own under Frank Lampard, he will be in a much better position next summer – either to force a move or to get improved terms on his original contract.
So the rumours can continue all they want – this is one man who’s going nowhere for 12 months at least.
