Chelsea’s transfer ban isn’t all bad news, reported £80M agreement proves

We Chelsea fans have struggled to see past the transfer ban being a negative thing, but a report which has been published by The Sun proves that things could be worse for us.

As you well know, Chelsea have been shackled by FIFA this summer after breaking rules relating to the signing of minors. We are unable to register players until the summer of 2020.

Our squad is far from perfect at the time of writing, which is why Frank Lampard will no doubt wish he had returned to Chelsea under better circumstances, when he could actually have spent cash.

However, the current state of the transfer market suggests that we may not be missing out on anything at all. In fact, we may well be better off not getting involved in all the madness.

According to The Sun, Manchester United have struck an £80M agreement with Leicester City for defender Harry Maguire. No your eyes are not deceiving you, they’ve actually reported that.

If £80M is now the going rate for a player who would have cost a fraction of that just years ago, Roman Abramovich ought to be delighted that his hard-earned money isn’t going to waste.
