Chelsea striker target to be proposed with £100K-a-week contract offer

Bournemouth are set to hand striker Callum Wilson a lucrative new five-year contract in hope of fending off interest from Chelsea and others, according to The Sun.

Wilson has battled through career threatening knee injuries to establish himself as one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League, as well as a senior England international.

As per The Sun, his good performances for the Cherries have put both Chelsea and West Ham on alert. Both teams have been in need of firepower in their respective forward lines.

However, Bournemouth do not appear prepared to allow him to leave. The Sun report that a new five-year deal will be proposed to Wilson, which would bank him as much as £100K-a-week.

While we are admirers of Wilson and appreciate the way he has worked himself up to this level, he’s not better than Michy Batshuayi, nor does he have a higher ceiling than Tammy Abraham.

If all goes to plan, both players could have surpassed Wilson by the time that next summer rolls around and we would actually be able to purchase him – so what would be the point?
