Chelsea boosted by return of pair after they missed Kawasaki loss through illness

Kepa Arrizabalaga and Tammy Abraham have returned to full Chelsea training after missing out on our 1-0 defeat to Kawasaki on Friday, report the club’s official website.

The pair were both forced to sit out our first fixture in Japan with respective troubles. Both players were struggling through illness, but it appears they are now in adequate shape to be involved in full training.

The Chelsea website reports the news that both players took part in full sessions, which suggests that they will be available for selection for Frank Lampard in our upcoming fixture against Barcelona.

Abraham will be looking to push Michy Batshuayi for a starting spot in the Chelsea XI, so he will no doubt have been eager to return to fitness and stake his claim for that role.

Lampard will likely be giving him at least 45 minutes to prove his worth against Barcelona, which is one hell of a challenge, but one hell of an opportunity. Let’s see if he takes it.
