Chelsea fans, for once, have become big Bayern Munich fans this summer.
According to the Sun, the futures of the two clubs are still very much linked. In January we were in bitter opposition with the German side, battling over the future of Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The German team made several bids back then, all of which we rejected. They were expected to return in force this summer, but the Achilles injury he picked up at the end of the season has slowed things down a little. It seems like he might even be ready to sign a new contract.
It’s hanging in the balance right now, with just one year left on his current deal. There’s one thing that could swing it in our favour though: if Bayern sign Leroy Sane from Man City. Today’s Sun has linked the winger with a £90m move to the Bundesliga, with the national team star still seeming a little unsettled at the City of Manchester Stadium.
That would mean they no longer have a need for Callum, and that’s why, for one summer only, we’re all Bayern fans, hoping they complete their big deal this summer.
