Jorginho is a player who was often a scapegoat for criticism at Stamford Bridge last season, being targeted for his style of play, and he was even booed in the ground on occasions.
However, the midfielder has stayed with Chelsea this summer, despite speculation in places like the Metro that he might join Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.
He has been speaking to the Chelsea FC website, assuring supporters that he is happy in London, and that he will be playing with more freedom under Frank Lampard.
He also says that he’s working hard and is ready for another chapter.
The 27-year old often split opinions amongst the Chelsea faithful last season, but he seems to be hitting the right notes so far this summer, with many fans praising his mentality after these fresh quotes:
Having a strong mentality is so crucial in modern football. Morata and Jorginho are prime examples, both got slated by media and fans but only one turned things around while the other ran away.
Mentality. Separates regulars from the elite.

Jorginho with elite mentality. Excited to see him with more freedom and maybe a bit closer to the opposition goal! Jorginho ain’t going anywhere https://t.co/7pgQoUXt7k

It's funny that Jorginho, who was booed, is talking about changing fans minds.
Morata, who got a ton of support from the fans while missing from 1mm in front of goal, is complaining that they didn't like him.
The difference of mentality is staggering. Glad he's gone.

Jorginho is going to be a beast next season!!
I am excited by him!— Mark Worrall (@gate17marco) July 23, 2019
It’s certainly a far cry from some of the comments you would have found about him on social media during last season’s campaign.
Might we see a potential candidate for Chelsea captain here?
