Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has slyly ramped up the pressure on young talent Callum Hudson-Odoi, saying that the winger has a “massive” opportunity to succeed at the club.
In quotes shown on Sky Sports, the Spaniard seemed confident that the 18 year old was going to sign the deal offered to him, and begin his path towards being a Chelsea hero.
“For Callum it is a massive chance to become a key player for Chelsea,” the former Marseille man mused.
“He was getting plenty of minutes before his unlucky injury. Now I am sure that when he recovers well he will be important when he is back,” he went on.
Azpi is the kind of guy who simply wouldn’t understand the logic of not wanting to play for Chelsea. The Spaniard has made a name for himself showing pure passion and love for the club, and he will be doing all he can behind the scenes to pass that on to Callum.
We’re still confident that, despite the delay, the young talent will do the right thing and commit his future to the club that has trained him from a young age. This could be a true breakout year for him.
