Chelsea defender open to idea of signing for Premier League side this summer – here’s why

Kurt Zouma is open to the possibility of returning to Everton, with retaining a spot in the France squad one of his primary motivators, according to a report published by the Mirror.

Zouma enjoyed a successful loan stint at Goodison Park last season, one that he needed to have in order to revive a career which was threatening to stutter after an anterior cruciate ligament rupture.

The Frenchman owes a lot to Everton, who as per the Mirror, are interested in signing him on a permanent basis. While we would like to see him stick around at Chelsea, he appears undecided.

The Mirror report that Zouma has not shut the door on a return to Everton, with making it into the France squad for next summer’s European Championships high on his list of priorities.

If Zouma gets his head down and works hard, there’s no reason why he can’t break into the Chelsea starting eleven. However, the competition is intense, so it wouldn’t surprise us if he pushed to depart.
