Chelsea reach £150K-a-week agreement to tie down homebred gem

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Ruben Loftus-Cheek over a long-term extension to his contract, according to the Telegraph.

Loftus-Cheek broke into the starting eleven at the tail end of the previous campaign, with Maurizio Sarri finding his supreme talent impossible to ignore.

The Englishman looks as though he will be rewarded for his good work under former boss Maurizio Sarri in the shape of a long-term contract and a considerable pay rise.

The Telegraph report that Loftus-Cheek has agreed to commit his future and will now be earning as much as £150K-a-week, which is a small price to pay for a player with his potential.

This is the best possible news we could have been given amid the transfer ban. It’s crucial we don’t lose players who could prove fundamental to the future of our team.

Loftus-Cheek could be the face of the new generation of Chelsea, the club which he loves and has been at since a boy. Now we have to wait and see if Callum Hudson-Odoi will follow suit…
