“Nothing to be worried about” – Chelsea ace reassures fans over inevitable concern

Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpiliceuta has reassured fans over head coach Frank Lampard’s lack of experience in the managerial world, report Football London.

While we are all delighted to see one of our own in charge of Chelsea in the shape of Lampard, there is no denying that he is the most inexperienced manager we have had in the Roman Abramovich era.

One campaign at Derby County would not land you the Chelsea job under normal circumstances, but as we are all aware, there’s nothing ordinary about the current state of play at Stamford Bridge.

Whether Lampard’s inexperience will be to his detriment this season is something that only time will tell us, but Azpilicueta is insistent that it is just a minor detail, and not one we ought to concern ourselves with.

Azpi is quoted by Football London saying:

“There is nothing to be worried about.”

“His experience as manager is one year in Derby but there is the whole experience he has as a player, playing in the highest level, under a lot of very good managers, his personality, behaviour and experience.”

“I am sure his desire and passion for being manager and this chance to be manager of Chelsea, the club he loves and where the fans love him.”

If Lampard is going to make a success of his time here, he needs the key figures within the dressing room in his corner. He’s clearly already won over Azpilicueta, which is a great place to start.

Let’s hope Azpi’s right.
