Brilliant 18 year old talent reveals what it’s like to have your hero as a manager

The good people at Chelsea, especially those on the social team and at Chelsea Fan TV, are doing their best to keep up informed. But the thirst for content is strong.

Football.London have even gone as far as to write up quotes from an Instagram story with Billy Gilmour, the young Scot training with the first team abroad for the first time.

He gave some insight into what Frank Lampard is putting the squad through in Ireland, and about what it was like to be among his heroes on a tour for the first time.

“The first few days under the gaffer has been really good, hard working,”they quote the 18 year old as saying.

“A lot of running, but obviously it’s the first time away with the first team, so it has been really good and a great experience for me,” he went on.

“My favourite Chelsea player growing up would probably be the gaffer [Lampard], definitely,”

It’s been great to see Billy out there, and the fact he’s now playing for his favourite player makes things all the more touching. He’s come on leaps and bounds since arriving from Rangers, and there’s a real hope he can be a first team level player.

Maybe he can impress Frank Lampard in training, and even get some minutes in one of the friendlies?
