Great news for Chelsea as Bundesliga giants’ frustration declares victory for Marina Granovskaia

Bayern Munich have accepted that Chelsea will not be parting with youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi at any point during the summer transfer window, according to the Independent.

As the report notes, the Bundesliga heavyweights have relentlessly pursued the Chelsea academy product, but the Blues’ stance has remained firm amid hopes that he could still extend his contract.

The arrival of Frank Lampard ought to further convince Hudson-Odoi that Chelsea is the right place for him to build his future – and it looks as though Bayern have recognised that themselves.

As per the Independent, Bayern have now essentially given up on convincing Chelsea to part with their most promising youngster and will instead be looking elsewhere in search of summer reinforcements.

If Hudson-Odoi does extend his contract, we ought to give great credit to Marina Granovskaia, who has stood firm as Bayern have done everything in their power to make this transfer materialise.

Marina is a club figure who has been heavily scrutinised ever since the day she stepped in the door at Stamford Bridge, but her recent work makes it hard to call her competence into question.

She has always been astute when it comes to negotiating high fees through player sales, but having already seen Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mason Mount commit their future, with CHO potentially set to to do the same, she has proven that her focus is just as much on the club’s footballing future than bank accounts.

Well done, Marina. Great work!
