Frank Lampard has confirmed in a press conference live from Japan on Tuesday morning that 18-year Ethan Ampadu could go out on loan this season, and Aston Villa are one of the clubs showing an interest.
Lampard spoke to reporters alongside Mateo Kovacic ahead of two pre-season friendlies in Japan, and was subsequently asked about the notable absence of the Welsh international.
Lampard explains Ethan Ampadu s absent because he could be going on loan for the season. He is a big fan of the player and wanted to sign him on loan for Derby last season, so is hopeful he can play a lot of games somewhere this year.#CFCinJapan

Aston Villa are preparing for life back in the Premier League and boss Dean Smith is looking to conduct an overhaul of his squad ahead of the campaign, with a defensive midfielder being high on his list of targets.
There are Chelsea connections with John Terry occupying the Assistant Manager role at Villa, who will obviously hold a good relationship with the newly appointed Chelsea head coach.
Terry will have good knowledge of the versatile youngster and will know the importance of him going on loan in one of Europe’s top leagues.
Chelsea will use this time now to negotiate with any interested parties, with Ampadu and his advisers being ideally placed to plan their next move.
