Another La Liga team join chase for £6m+ defender after great season

Kenneth Omeruo was one of the sleeper hits of the season in the loan army. After several years in Turkey slightly under the radar, the Nigerian centre back went to Leganes in La Liga, and ended up really shining there.

They were apparently keen to sign him, but weren’t willing to stump up the cash we wanted. The Madrid based club may now regret not getting that deal over the line. According to Goal.com’s Chelsea correspondent Nizaar Kinsella, they’re now not the only ones interested.

As we predicted on Monday his good showings in the Spanish top flight are being compounded by starts for Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations, and now Celta Vigo are keen on the on loan Chelsea man too.

Chelsea are now apparently asking more than £6m for him, a lot more than Leganes would have had to pay had they met our lower asking price earlier this summer.

Now they may find themselves priced out of a move entirely.
