Football Italia have quotes from Jorginho’s agent on their site today, with the representative giving some pretty eyebrow raising early hints that his client would be amenable to a move to Juventus.
The departure of Maurizio Sarri, brought in with Jorginho last summer, was a blow to the Italy international’s chances, and there is some sense for us to get rid of him if we can, while we can still get a good sum for him.
It sounds like the former Napoli man would be open to it too. You can see his agent’s full quotes here:
“Chelsea have a four-year contract with the lad. We’ll wait a few days to figure out whether there is any truth in this interest mentioned in the papers,” Football Italia quote him as saying.
“His past at Napoli won’t be an issue, because Jorginho is a professional. Right now, Jorginho is happy at Chelsea. He found a great atmosphere and we can’t really say that he’d like to go elsewhere, but anything can happen on the transfer market. We’ll wait and see…”
It sounds like they would be keen, and who could blame them. He fits into Sarri’s system and has nowhere else he’s been proven to be capable. He should be clinging on the coat tails of the coach who got a lucky move.
But given our transfer ban, we shouldn’t be thinking of selling him.
