Chelsea youngster wanted by second-tier side, why it would be the wrong move

Swansea City are preparing an ambitious attempt to sign youngster Reece James on loan from Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

James, though just 19-years of age, was one of the best players in the Championship while at Wigan Athletic last season.

He proved that he’s a cut above England’s second tier, with a return to Chelsea or a Premier League loan surely on the cards.

Chelsea’s transfer ban could force the club to plug holes in the squad with returning loanees, with James being one of those who could benefit.

That is, unless the club decide to loan him out once again. The Daily Mail believe that Swansea will try their luck and attempt to get him for the season.

While we’re sure their interest does exist, we would expect to see James back at Stamford Bridge next season – especially if Frank Lampard takes over.

There would be little point in loaning him back to the Championship. He’s far too good to spend another season at that level.

What do you think would be the right decision, Blues?
