Real Madrid will have to wait to announce Eden Hazard as their latest marquee signing despite initial reports suggesting the Belgium star will officially hold the famous white shirt in his unveiling, shortly after Chelsea’s Europa League final match.
The Blues secured a 4-1 win over Arsenal on May 29 and a week after, the deal is yet to be announced. The narrative has moved from whether it will be done, to when it will be done. It’s a certainty that the former Lille LOSC star will complete his move to the Santiago Bernabeu outfit next summer.
Simon Johnson of the Evening Standard says the 2015 PFA Player Of The Year, can only complete his move to Spain if the two clubs agree on a fee. The transfer fee is what’s left to conclude after the Blues accepted they have to allow the player to make his dream move.
Hazard will be part of the Belgium squad that will face Kazakhstan and Scotland in the coming days and his move to Real will only be concluded when those games are played.
