Potential timing set for Chelsea to announce Frank Lampard as next head coach

Chelsea will make an offer to Frank Lampard and confirm his signing ‘this week’ as a replacement for Maurizio Sarri, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Sarri was allowed to join Juventus last week after the Turin giants paid the £7 million compensation for the remaining months left on his contract. His departure means Chelsea will need to fill the void he leaves behind, and Lampard has been one of the most talked about options the Blues might want to explore this summer.

But being under contract with Derby County means the former midfielder will not be allowed to leave the Championship club until the Rams receive a fair compensation fee, as per the Sun.

Now the Evening Standard via Mail suggests Chelsea are ready to pay the suggested amount once they agree on a fee for the coach and a possible announcement will be made ‘this week’. A three-year deal is on the table and the Blues are hoping Lampard will give a nod to their offer to return him to Stamford Bridge.
