One important stat Maurizio Sarri achieved at Chelsea and what fans will remember him for

Chelsea have parted ways with Maurizio Sarri after the Italian became the first full-time head coach to ever walk out on the Blues since Roman Abramovich took charge of the club.

The former Napoli manager agreed to join Juventus this summer and left the club on Sunday.

His career in the Premier League ended only 12 months after he agreed to join the Blues amid controversial circumstances. His famed ‘Sarriball’ drew fans and pundits alike to him and won him a decent number of games too. Although not all were wins, Sarri led Chelsea to a 12-game unbeaten start to the Premier League, better than any manager in the history of the competition, according to OptaJoe on Twitter.

Before Tottenham beat Chelsea at Wembley in November, the eventual Europa League winners had not lost a single game in the English top flight.

The amazing run began with a win at Huddersfield, then a win over rivals Arsenal at Stamford Bridge before a hard-fought 2-1 win over Newcastle United at the St. James’ Park. Bournemouth and Cardiff were put to the sword too before the Blues dropped two points against West Ham United. Liverpool, Manchester United and Everton were the other teams to take points off Chelsea but none defeated Sarri’s side until Spurs managed the feat in November.

Sarri leaves to Juventus now, knowing it might take a while before his name is written off this record in England.
