Official: Chelsea lodge appeal against transfer ban, CAS have confirmed

The Telegraph have confirmed that Chelsea have made an appeal to the CAS over the two-window transfer ban which has been put in force by FIFA.

Chelsea were hit with the ban after allegedly breaking rules relating to the signing of underage players.

It’s a similar offence that saw Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid banned from making transfers.

However, in all the other cases, the clubs were given a window to make signings pending the appeal.

While Chelsea have not yet been granted the right to sign players, an official appeal has now been made.

The Telegraph report on the CAS’ confirmation of our appeal. There’s no mention as to whether we expect it to be successful.

While we see little chance of the ban being overturned, there ought to be a good chance of us given freedom this summer.

We must be treated with consistency and in line with other clubs who have allegedly committed similar offences.

We haven’t been thus far, so we hope the CAS brings justice.
