Official: Chelsea to face Manchester United in 2019/20 Premier League opening game

Chelsea will begin their Premier League campaign next season with a meeting with rivals Manchester United on opening day.

The fixture list was announced by the Premier League on Tuesday and Chelsea will meet with Ole Gunnar Soldkjaer’s side. It will be a tough start to the season as the Blues will travel to Old Trafford to face the Red Devils.

It gets no better for the Europa League champions as they will then face Leicester City at home in their second game of the season. Then there are games against promoted sides Norwich City and Sheffield United in the subsequent two games.

The fixture release also reveals a tough Christmas schedule for the blues who will take on Tottenham Hotspur on December 21, Southampton on Boxing Day and Arsenal on December 28.

The season will be climaxed with games against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge which follows an away trip to Anfield.
