In the next 48 hours Chelsea will announce their next manager says TalkSport

Chelsea are close to appointing Frank Lampard as their new head coach and the former midfielder could be announced as early as in the next 48 hours.

He has been talked up as the favorite to replace Maurizio Sarri after the Italian coach left for Juventus this summer. The former Napoli coach cut short his contract at Stamford Bridge to succeed Massimiliano Allegri at the Turin club. Having won his maiden trophy as a coach of Chelsea, Sarri hopes to continue this success back in Italy where his career began as a professional football coach.

Lampard has begun his, and having not won trophies too in the Championship with his first club Derby County, hopes to do so in London where he was very successful in his playing days.

According to Talk Sport, Chelsea have advanced in negotiations with Derby County and will make their deal with Lampard public latest by Wednesday, this week. The report also claims Lampard will take Jody Morris, his former Chelsea team-mate and current assistant at Derby.
