Chelsea had 4 players starting for England U21s against France in the opening game of the Euros in that age category.
We wrote yesterday about how this could be a defining moment for some of these young players, and even though they lost last night, Jake Clarke-Salter put in an impressive shift that had plenty of Chelsea fans on Twitter excited.
Obviously they are being a little hyperbolic, but it looks like as England captain, JCS will have a great chance to improve his loan standing for next season at least with some good performances in Italy.

Did you just watch the same game I did? Clarke-Salter played really well and there is a reason why he's got the captaincy.

Tomori and Clarke-Salter were excellent. DaSilva was good but the French RW Kone had him beat for pace and was a menace when cutting onto his preferred left-foot to shoot, which is how the first goal happened. Mount & Tammy came on late with England on the backfoot. Didnt do much

Now a timely block by Clarke-Salter keeps France at bay. Still gonna be the best part of ten minutes to hold out.

THIS game exactly shows us why people should stop rating players based on popularity & reputation, but on ability.
Clarke-Salter and Tomori are outperforming the French cb's our people are hyping. Dasilva is outperforming all the fb's including one who's supposed t cost £50m..
