Lampard will be “given at least a full season” regardless of results

Frank Lampard will be given a serious chunk of time to prove himself at Chelsea, according to a follow up article in the Daily Telegraph dealing with the details of the former player’s impending arrival at the club.

Law says that the “unique set of circumstances” the player will be working with, along with the “strong bond” he was with the fans will ensure he’s the first manager given a long leash to start with.

The article even goes as far as to say that, unless we’re in a relegation battle, this season will be as much a free hit as anything.

“Barring the worst-case scenario of a relegation battle, he will be given at least a full season before facing any sort of assessment,” Law writes. That’s a good sign.

He’s just starting his managerial career, and it could be a bumpy road to start with. Eden Hazard is gone and the game of football is about to get a lot harder suddenly for this Chelsea team.

They will need time, and patience, to adapt.
