Lampard signs until 2022 says Gazzetta source

Sources in Italy are saying that the deal to make Frank Lampard the Chelsea manager is done.

Nicolo Schira from the Gazzaetta, who has come from nowhere to get some pretty accurate information recently, said an agreement was close, and then closed, in subsequent Tweets this evening.

There’s likely to be more to this, and we may have to wait a few more days to see it confirmed, but we’re pretty sure that this is either true or an accurate guess. There’s not much we can do except pay the Derby manager’s fee, and then it’s just a matter of agreeing a contact – presumably not that hard.

Then we can start the bounce. The deal is said to be until 2022, and if the assurances from Roman we heard about are true, we could be about to start the Lampard era at last. It’s come sooner than anyone thought, and we can’t wait.

Let’s get it done.
