“I am happy here” – Chelsea’s emerging first choice defender rubbishes talk of a move to Juventus

Juventus may have convinced Maurizio Sarri to join them from Chelsea but they are failing in their second attempt to persuade another from Stamford Bridge.

Palmieri took a while before winning the battle with Marcos Alonso as Chelsea’s number one left full-back and now wants to focus on keeping that role. Under Maurizio Sarri, the Italian full-back struggled to impress, mostly in the early months of his time at the club.

Having signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2018, Palmieri had a tough task to unseat Alonso as the main option for the team on the left side of defense but gradually took the chances he had to become one of the first names on the team sheet.

Juventus are now willing to sell Alex Sandro for the right fee and have taken focus on Palmieri to replace the Brazil international, but the 24-year old says he is ‘focused’ on the Blues.

“Me at Juve with Sarri? I am happy here, I have not received any calls and I am focused on Chelsea.”
