Good news for Chelsea as Derby County begin hunt for Frank Lampard successor

Derby County have begun their hunt to replace Frank Lampard, essentially confirming that he is set to return to Chelsea as manager.

This news comes from The Sun, who are under the impression that former West Brom boss Darren Moore is being lined up to replace Lamps.

Garry Monk and Danny Cowley are also thought to be being considered for the position, which looks set to be left vacant any day now.

Until official confirmation comes that Lampard will be the new Chelsea manager, part of us will remain fearful that the deal could collapse.

However, with The Sun reporting that Derby granted us permission to talk to Lampard earlier this week, and are now seeking his successor, things are looking good.

Derby will have a tough time finding a replacement for Lampard who could achieve what he did last season. They were desperately unlucky not to earn promotion.

It’s a whole new challenge for Lampard next term, should he take the reins, but he has a bulletproof mentality and we firmly back him for success.
