It can’t be underestimated how important it is to have an easy start to the season in the Premier League.
Last time out, a generous set of games early doors allowed us to build up a serious unbeaten run. When things came to Spring, and results turned bad, we still had that big cushion of points to rely on, and the teams around us simply weren’t able to take advantage of our declining form, all because we had enough in the bank.
This is all especially true when you have a new boss, and it appears we might do. So no wonder Chelsea fans on Twitter are agitated about starting next season off against the mighty Manchester United.
