Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to show Frank Lampard a hint of his eagerness to hire him after a report by the Sun revealed both men will hold talks on the Russian oligarch’s beautiful yacht.
The super yacht known as the Eclipse will host the duo this week in a reported meeting that will cement negotiations for Lampard’s return to Chelsea. Currently, the £380million Eclipse is anchored off glitzy St Tropez and unless there’s a significant movement there, that will be the location for the meeting.
Maurizio Sarri has left Chelsea for Juventus this week, leaving a big void at the Bridge to be filled this summer. The club is considering a few other options but the top of their list is Lampard who built a great legacy at the club in his playing career.
There’s one small criterion to meet though before the talks are held. The Sun’s report claims Chelsea need permission from Derby County before speaking to Lampard for the managerial role.
