Chelsea player makes decision on his future amid reported Juventus interest

Emerson Palmieri wants to stay at Chelsea this summer, despite interest from Serie A champions Juventus, according to Goal.

Emerson was initially signed as backup for Alonso last winter, but has gradually worked his way into the Chelsea starting eleven.

Maurizio Sarri appeared to favour his defensive assuredness over Alonso’s gung-ho approach down the left-hand-side of defence.

That saw Emerson be handed starts in both the Carabao Cup and Europa League finals, both of which he impressed in.

Goal believe that Emerson’s recent performances have impressed Sarri, who would like to take him with him to Juventus this summer.

However, as per the report, the Italy international has no intention of leaving Chelsea. He’s more than happy to stick around.

If we’re to sell any left-back this summer it certainly ought to be Alonso. More valuable, lower ceiling and far less reliable.

With a transfer ban in force, though, it would be no surprise if both players were still at Chelsea come the start of next season.
