Emerson Palmieri explains what it was like to play with Neymar

Chelsea have released the latest in their “making of me” series, which sees players discuss the games and events that brought them to where they are today.

They are a little up and down – some players just don’t have very interesting backgrounds. Mateo Kovacic had a great one earlier in the season where he discussed his busy past, and this time it was the turn of Emerson Palmieri, who also had some really interesting nuggets.

The full back plays for Italy now but grew up in Brazil, and the best parts of the interview are where he talks about breaking into the legendary Santos team. He made his debut when Neymar was still in the side, and it’s great to hear his stories about playing back then.

What a lucky man he is to have shared a flank with both Ney and Eden Hazard… we need to get a more in depth piece from him comparing the two!
