Derby receive several approaches about possible vacancy

Sky Sports are reporting that several managers have already approached Derby about replacing Frank Lampard, but have been told that the club already has a manager.

That’s no surprise. As things stand, he’s their manager, no matter how likely he is to come to join us this summer after Maurizio Sarri vanished to join Juventus.

Admitting to possible replacements that he’s going just weakens their bargaining position.

So until the moment Frank is holding up a Chelsea shirt with Marina, don’t expect Derby to admit anything.

The deal looks like it will come down to how much compensation we pay the team owned by Mel Morris, and it’s hard to imagine us being able to persuade them to take anything less than that. The sooner we accept and it get him on board the sooner we can move on, and the sooner these hopeful applicants for the Rams job can send off their newest CVs for.
