Chelsea attacker snubs lucrative China offer – which included two cars and a flat

Chelsea winger Willian has reportedly rejected a huge, and rather bizarre, contract offer from a Chinese Super League side.

Willian has just one year left to run on his Chelsea contract, which will inevitably prompt speculation over his future at Stamford Bridge.

Several of his Brazilian compatriots have moved to China in recent seasons, presumably in order to reap the financial rewards it promises.

Willian, though, does not appear to be driven solely by cash. As per the Daily Star, he’s snubbed a move to Shanghai Shenhua.

The report claims that he was offered £10.7m-a-year, a flat, two cars (with drivers included) and plane tickets, but it wasn’t enough to convince him.

There’s still no guarantee that Willian will be a Chelsea player come the start of next season, but this is an indication of his willingness to stay.

As with all these things, time will tell where he ends up.
