‘I’ve always wanted to play there’ – Chelsea target swings door open for Premier League move

Reported Chelsea target David Neres has swung the door open for a Premier League side to show interest in signing him this summer.

It was reported by the Daily Mail last month that Neres would be on Chelsea’s shopping list if we were able to get the transfer ban overturned.

While there is very little to suggest that we will be able to make transfers this summer, Neres would certainly be a viable target if we were.

The Brazilian has told the Liverpool Echo of his desire to play in the Premier League:

“Of course the Premier League interests me. It’s the best league in the world, and I’ve always wanted to play there. But I leave all that in God’s hands.”

Following the departure of Eden Hazard, Chelsea could be the perfect next step in what is sure to be an incredible career in football for Neres.

The potential stumbling block is, if there is a mass exodus at Ajax as expected this summer, Neres could be tempted to follow suit.

If he pushed to leave, with Chelsea unable to enter the race to sign him, we face the possibility of missing out on yet another transfer target.

Time will tell.
