Chelsea are taking huge steps to secure the best performing loan players from last season ahead of the summer transfer window which promises to be tougher than they expected in their battle with FIFA.
FIFA have banned the Blues from making signings for the next two transfer windows after the Premier League giants breached rules governing the purchase of foreign youth players. Chelsea now have to make sure they retain most of their top performing stars and also retain the services of those who were sent on loan last summer after accepting they will not win their battle with the world governing body of football, via the Telegraph.
Kurt Zouma is one of those and after his fine season at the Goodison Park with Everton, the France international is hoping to get into the Chelsea team. According to the Sun, Chelsea are making plans to keep Zouma after Gary Cahill was confirmed to have ended his seven-year stay at the club.
Dan Levene, a reporter at the Bridge tweeted Cahill’s brilliance since arriving at Chelsea in 2012.
Gary Cahill has been a fantastic servant to Chelsea. A great player, and a great guy: it'll be a sad day when he leaves. But it's the right time: for him, and for Chelsea. The club would jump at any player who could promise as many trophies as he has brought over his time here.

Zouma is considered a good replacement for the former club captain and his displays at Everton give Chelsea confidence he can make it alongside David Luiz, Andreas Christensen, and Antonio Rudiger.
