A report by Calciomercato has linked Chelsea with a move for Napoli right-back Elseid Hysaj – but there’s certainly questions to be asked.
Hysaj is on his way out of Napoli this summer, according to Calciomercato, with Chelsea being mentioned in the report as a potential destination.
If Maurizio Sarri were to remain, it’d make sense. Cesar Azpilicueta hasn’t been at his best, while Hysaj is a player who he knows and trusts.
However, at this point there is no guarantees that Sarri will be in charge next season, so why would the club back him in the transfer market?
That’s also overlooking the fact that Chelsea cannot make transfers at the time of writing. The ban remains in force, with the CAS yet to reply.
While Hysaj may be a player who Chelsea have considered in the past, it’s difficult to imagine that the club would be actively working to sign him at this point in time.
