Chelsea invite youngster to meet Ruben Loftus-Cheek, still get snubbed

Chelsea have missed out on the signing of promising Millwall youngster Samuel Edozie, according to a report published by The Sun.

The Blues have made a habit of stocking up on the best young talent that the country has to offer. It’s seen our academy grow into one of the strongest on the planet.

While it remains difficult for academy graduates to penetrate the first-team squad, playing alongside some of the best in the world in their age group no doubt does wonders for their development.

Edozie, 16, had the opportunity to join our talent pool, per The Sun, but it appears as though Premier League counterparts Manchester City have beaten us to his signature.

The report claims that Edozie was invited to Cobham to see the training ground and meet Ruben Loftus-Cheek, but it wasn’t enough to convince him that Chelsea were the right stepping stone for him.

Loftus-Cheek is walking evidence that if you’re good enough you will get a chance to impress here. If he wasn’t enough to convince him, nothing will have been.

It’s his loss, all due respect. He has even less chance of an opportunity at City, even if they do have some of the best training facilities in the world. You don’t say no to Chelsea, although maybe that’s our bias talking.
