Chelsea forced to sell €10m defender after Serie A side activate option

Torino have exercised their right to buy Ola Aina, according to Goal.com.

The website quote the Italian club’s president Urbano Cairo, who confirmed earlier today that the Chelsea defender’s loan had been made permanent.

The fee has been talked about as around €10m all season, with it looking increasingly likely that the option would be taken up as the season went on and Aina established himself more and more.

It represents another forward step for him after racking up a ton of games in the Championship with Hull the season before. It’s a shame we have no say in this, as we would like some home grown depth at full back, and Aina can play on both sides. But we’re also delighted to see him get a big move, and we can’t wait to see him kick on again next season.

Good luck in Italy, Ola! You’ll always be welcome back at the Bridge.
