Chelsea had €70m bid rejected for former PSG man

According to Plaza Deportiva, Chelsea made an offer of €70m for Goncalo Guedes of Valencia, that was rejected by the Spanish club. They cite local radio in the city as their own source.

The Portugal international scored the goal that won his country the UEFA Nations League at the weekend, but according to this rumour they had already been contacted by Chelsea – through Jorge Mendes – who made an opening offer that Los Ches were quick to reject.

Rodrigo Moreno is the top man up front for Valencia at the moment, and there is interest in him from all over Europe. He’s already said he’s considering offers from elsewhere, and it seems unlikely that the La Liga side will sell two of their stars in one summer.

So this one looks like it’s a little tricky to pull off, especially given our transfer ban is still in place.

The fact that it would mean getting into bed with Jorge Mendes makes it even less appealing.
