Chelsea make final decision on the future of on-loan centre-forward

Gonzalo Higuain will not be signing for Chelsea on a permanent basis and is set to return to Juventus, according to the Telegraph.

Higuain struggled to impress the Chelsea supporters during his six month stint here, being comfortably outperformed by Olivier Giroud.

Unfortunately for Giroud, Maurizio Sarri insisted on fielding Higuain in the Premier League, leaving him on Europa League duty.

He could be granted further opportunities going forward, however, with his toughest competition set to walk out the door.

The Telegraph report that Higuain will be returning to Juventus, with Chelsea seemingly having no interest in purchasing him permanently.

This is absolutely the right decision from the club, with Higuain not worthy of the expenditure it would take to bring him here.

Whether he has a future at Juventus is up to Sarri, but we won’t be seeing him in a Chelsea shirt ever again. Forgive us for not shedding any tears over that…
