Reece James has been taken off on a stretcher for England’s U20 team.
This is the worst possible news for Chelsea fans just coming to terms with the double losses of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Having starred for years in the academy, Reece went on loan to Wigan in the Championship and took his game to the next level.
This was supposed to be the summer he came back to Chelsea and took his place as our right back of the future. Now, everything is up in the air.
We await updates from the club about his full diagnosis, but it’s not looking good. He had oxygen on the field and was attended to for some time as the rest of the England and Chile youth teams gathered around.
He’s a strong boy and we’re sure this won’t hold him back, but the timing, for Reece and the club, is devastating.
