“I think his head is here” – Willian admits Chelsea star could stay at club next season

Eden Hazard’s future has been up in the air with the forward expressing interest in joining Real Madrid this summer, but Willian maintains his colleague is almost certain to stay.

The Blues have been hit with a transfer ban ahead of the summer transfer window and the situation gets worse as FIFA says they will not be allowed to sign players in the January transfer window as well. That means Maurizio Sarri’s squad will run thin if some of his first-team players leave, especially if they are currently key players.

Hazard is not the kind of player any club in the world would fancy losing. He adds a different dimension to the team’s play and makes break-ins look way easier for the attack when opposition teams tighten up defenses.

His loss will be colossal and Willian hopes the 27-year old continues to wear the blue shirt next season despite talk of being close to a Real deal.

“I don’t know, I don’t think so. For me I hope he stays, but in football you never know. I think his head is here, to play for Chelsea. Then after he’s finished the season maybe he can talk about his situation.

I don’t know anything about him leaving so for me I hope he can stay. He’s very important, a special player, he’s very important for us, he helps us a lot. And he’s one of the best players in the world.”
