Southampton and Aston Villa keen on stealing Chelsea striker on permanent deal

Aston Villa have had great success this season, with more than a little help from Chelsea.

We’re not talking about the Iron Will of John Terry, who is now an assistant at the club he finished his career with last season, we’re talking of course about Tammy Abraham, who was the key man in firing the Villains into the promotion race after Christmas.

But now some sources are saying that, once Abraham’s loan is up, the Villains will be coming back to the well for more goals from the Chelsea academy.

Martell Taylor-Crossdale is the next name on their list, and FootballInsider24, that most reliable of sources, claim that Villa want to nick the young forward off us. The Daily Mirror also name Fulham and Southampton as interested observers.

The 19 year old’s contract expires this summer, so he will have his pick of clubs, and as an England U20 international there’s clearly plenty of talent there – perhaps just not enough for Chelsea.

What is equally interesting is what may happen with Tammy. He’s been so good for them and would likely want to stay with them should they make promotion through the playoffs – but may also be needed back as a squad player at Chelsea should our transfer ban be enforced.
